Plan Modifications

Since we are now expecting another baby, we have decided to postpone moving to Zambia about half a year. Originally we were planning to move to Cedar Hill, Texas in November. They want us to work with them for 6 months before moving to Zambia. During that time they will support us. Now we will probably not move to Zambia until December or January. So the 6 months would not start until July.

Because of that we have to decide what to do from November until July. I will still be resigning from my job as a blind programming instructor at the beginning of November. I will probably get a job in Cedar Hill (or Dallas) as a programmer, but until then I will do freelance programming jobs over the internet. My parents have asked us to move to Tennessee in November. They of course want us to stay there as long as possible. However, even though the dates have changed, we still feel that we should be in Cedar Hill as much as possible.

What we will probably do is try to see if I can do freelance fulltime and still make enough to live on. We will probably spend November and maybe December in Tennessee. After that we will move to Cedar Hill. If the freelance work is successful, we will still be able to spend weeks at a time in Tennessee. Otherwise, I will probably have a job in Cedar Hill until July.

We hope I will be able to find enough work as a freelance programmer so that we will not be tied down to a particular place. That way, we will be able to travel and spend time with family before we move to Zambia.

In addition, freelance work might become a hobby while we are in Zambia, and a source of income while on furlough. Whatever the case, we plan to use whatever resources we have to serve God.
