Praise Through Tears

Right now, Rick along with many of the team are driving to the Mukwemba village.

Alek Mukwemba (far right) with his friends:
Simoni Peyela Sr., Gosper Mofya, and Harry Jikata (left to right)
One of our dear and closest brothers Alek Mukwemba just passed away. He was one of the village leaders, a church leader at Konwka, and a strong Christian influence in the community. He was a strong and radient light for the Lord. He would stand up for his God even if all those around him refused to do what was right.

Alek once lived in darkness. He was an alcoholic and focused on the gains of this world until a few years ago. Then, his life was changed forever. With God at his side, he changed all his ways and gained the love and respect of the comunity.

We praise God that Alek fought the good fight and won the race and is now one of the many that will get to finally be with his great and wonderful Maker. Praise God from whom all blessings flow and Alek is one of those blessings. God's love flowed through Mukwemba's life until the day he died.

We all will go through a tearful time missing our dear brother and fellow worker for the Lord. Please pray for his dear wife and their children and grandchildren as they will have to go through a time of greaving and healing. Please pray that his family will stand strong and lean on the Lord for strength and comfort and not on certain traditions that involve witchcraft and it's evils. Please pray for strength for all the Christians here.

In God's gentle, comforting, and quiet strength
- Karen
